Offline Mode
Existing templates can be easily edited at any time directly in MS-Word using the SEMYOU TEMPALTE add-in with just a few clicks. This section shows you:
✔ Download existing template
✔ Edit template locally
✔ Make template available as new version
Start offline synchronization
To start offline synchronization, perform the following steps:
✔ In Windows, start the Microsoft Word app.
✔ In the toolbar, switch to the "SEMYOU Templates" ribbon. Please note that the name of the ribbon may differ depending on the configuration.
✔ Start the offline synchronization by clicking the Offline Sync button. Start
Important
Please note that the synchronization is performed in the background and always performs the full data dump. I.e., if the connection is interrupted during a synchronization or the process is terminated prematurely, not all data will be available for offline use.
Working offline
To enter the offline mode within the add-in, it is necessary that there is no connection to the Internet.
✔ Make sure that no Internet connection is active.
✔ In Windows, start the Microsoft Word app.
✔ In the toolbar, switch to the "SEMYOU Templates" ribbon. Please note that the name of the ribbon may differ depending on the configuration.
✔ Select Templates. The SEMYOU TEMPLATE add-in is displayed in the right side panel. The offline icon indicates that the offline mode is active and that the data can only be obtained from the locally stored source.
✔ Select a client. The templates that are available for this client in offline mode are displayed.
✔ Select the template that you want to open.
✔ Select your user profile and click Create.
Important
If clients and templates are not displayed completely, they may not have been enabled for offline synchronization. In addition, make sure that the offline synchronization was performed successfully.
Technical background knowledge
The application for offline synchronization is located in the following path:
%appdata%\semyou\template/TemplateDataSync
The application can be started either manually through the MS-Word add-in, or through scripts you create yourself. When the synchronization is complete, the application exits automatically.
A complete data dump is performed by each synchronization. I.e., existing data for offline mode will be deleted and all newly available data will be synchronized.
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites must be met:
✔ You have a SEMYOU user account.
✔ You have a valid TEMPLATE app license.
✔ You have installed the Microsoft "SEMYOU Template" add-in
✔ You have an active Internet connection
✔SEMYOU Template has been configured in advance with regard to clients and user profiles
✔ Individual template files have been set for offline use
